Title I - Objects, Domicile
Article 1 - Korineum Golf and Country Club carries out its activities within the area known as Esentepe.
Article 2- The Club''s activities will be governed by these statutes and club rules defined by the Management. The mandatory golf rules are based on those of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, the P. G. A of Great Britain & Ireland and Golf Federations of Europe.
Article 3 - The Club''s domicile is in Esentepe in the district of Girne in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
Title II - Types of Membership
Article 4 - Membership will be subject to the completion of the application form, payment of the joining and subscription fees and approval by the management of the Korineum Golf & Country Club at its sole discretion. Korineum Golf & Country Club reserves the right to refuse admission or membership.
Acceptance or non-acceptance of the applicant will be binding and no justification will be given in the case of non-acceptance.
Membership may be: Honorary, Diamond, Full 7 and 5 day, Family, Junior, Corporate, Academy, Junior Academy and Leisure.
Article 5 - Honorary Membership:
Honorary Members are those persons or organizations who are conferred this status by the decision of the Management on the grounds of personal merit or services rendered to the Club. Honorary Members are exempt from payment of any Golf fees and will receive 15% Discount from the price of the Club facilities.
Article 6 - Diamond Membership:
Diamond Members are entitled to unlimited golf on both the 18-hole course and the 3-hole Academy course. Each member will receive a maximum of 7500 range balls per year. Diamond Members shall receive a 10 % Discount from the Bar/Restaurant Facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 7 - Full Membership (7-Day):
Full Members are entitled to a maximum of 110 rounds of golf on the 18-hole golf course per annum. Members of this category shall also receive 10 % discount from Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 8 - 5-Day Membership (Monday to Friday):
5-Day Members are entitled to a maximum of 95 rounds of golf on the 18-hole course per annum and shall receive 10 % discount from the Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 9 - Family Membership:
Family Membership shall be a minimum of 2 playing Members of which at least 1 parent must be present. Each parent shall be entitled to maximum of 100 rounds. Family Membership as a whole shall be entitled to 200 rounds of golf on the 18-hole course per annum and shall receive 10% discount from the Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 10 - Junior Membership:
Junior Members (under 16), are entitled to a maximum of 60 rounds of golf on the 18-hole golf course per annum and shall be entitled to 10 % discount from the Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 11 - Corporate Membership:
Corporate Membership consists of 2 named card holders and 2 wild card holders. The wild card holder enjoys the same Member rights and privileges as the named Members on the day that they play. This membership shall include a maximum total of 350 rounds of golf on the 18-hole course per annum, and a 10 % discount on the Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 12 - Academy Membership:
Academy Members are entitled to a maximum of 90 Academy rounds per annum and shall be entitled to 10 % discount from the Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 13 - Junior Academy Membership:
Junior Academy Members (under 16), are entitled to a maximum of 50 Academy rounds per annum and shall be entitled to 10 % discount from the Bar/Restaurant facilities and Pro-Shop goods.
Article 14 - Leisure Membership:
Leisure Members are entitled to free use of the fitness room with 12 training sessions accompanied by a fitness instructor per year. Leisure Members shall also receive a 10% discount on the Sauna, Spa, Hairdresser and Bar/Restaurant Facilities.
Title III - Loss of Membership Status
Article 15 - The status of Membership will be withdrawn for the following reasons:
1. Written resignation or death of the Member.
2. Non payment of annual dues after notification to that effect.
3. Expulsion from another golf club by virtue of a decision adopted in formal proceedings.
4. A very serious offence as defined in Title VI of these statutes which is penalized with expulsion in virtue of a decision adopted to this effect.
Title IV - Rights and Obligations of the Members
Article 16 - Members have the following rights:
a. Preferential use of all Club installations
b. Free written expression of his or her views to the management.
c. The right to stand for election and be elected to the Captaincy/Lady Captaincy of the Club (this excludes Honorary Members, Academy Members, Junior and Leisure Members).
Article 17 - All Members are obliged to:
a. Comply and obey all the Statutes and Club Rules as well as the decisions of the Management/Membership Office.
b. Pay all established fees and levies, both Ordinary and Extraordinary.
c. Use the Club Installations with care and respect.
d. Afford care and respect to other users at all times.
e. Respect and obey all the rules governing the Club and the game of golf established by the club, the TRNC Golf Federation, the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews, P. G. A of Great Britain & Ireland and Golf Federations of Europe.
Article 18 - Members must inform the Club in writing of their address and any change that may occur thereto. The Club will correctly make the necessary amendments to its records upon receipt of any changes. All notifications made by the Club which have been sent to the last address given by the member will be considered valid.
Title V - Governing and Representative Units
Article 19 - The Club President:
The Club President is the highest officer of the Club, competent to decide on any matter submitted, and in particular:
a. Modification of the Club Statutes,
b. Approval of budgets, entrance fees, complimentary fees, ordinary and extraordinary membership dues, playing fees and levies to be charged to members and non members, and
c. Extraordinary construction works of the Club.
Article 20 - The General Manager:
The General Manager is responsible of the daily management of the Golf facilities, and in particular:
a. To provide general management of the facilities,
b. To promote and improve the services and activities of the Korineum Golf & Country Club,
c. To exercise the disciplinary faculty relating to the members and club staff and to impose appropriate sanctions if necessary,
d. To draw up the club rules, approve and modify them with the power to expand or adjust any of the existing Statutes, Rules and Regulations,
e. To regulate the use of the Golf Course and Club Facilities, being able to establish certain restrictions for their use, generally or with regard to membership categories, and
f. To employ and dismiss Club employees of the Korineum Golf & Country Club.
Article 21 - The Head Professional:
The Head Professional is responsible for all activities regarding the golf activities, and in particular:
a. To organise and control all golf club activities for the Korineum Golf & Country Club,
b. To advise the disciplinary faculty relating to the members and relevant staff,
c. To establish the rules and format for all competitions and organise the competition calendar,
d. To supervise the use of the Golf Course and Club Facilities, being able to advise restrictions for their use, generally or with regard to membership categories,
e. To run and manage the Pro-Shop, and its activities,
f. To ensure effective management of the Tee Times and
g. To advise Course and Academy hours.
Article 22 - The Disciplinary Committee consists of:
The Club Vice President
The General Manager
The Head Professional
The Membership Representative
The Captain
The Lady Captain
One elected member chosen by the Captain and Lady Captain
The Committee will meet as often as the Club Vice President or his/her substitute convenes the Committee. All decisions will be made by a majority of votes of those present with the Vice President having the casting vote.
Article 23 - Honorary President of the Club:
He/she will represent the Club and enhance its image and reputation on a positive basis.
Article 24 - The Captain and Lady Captain: Definition:
While the Captaincy is a non-executive position, the Captains'' involvement in promoting golfing and social events is paramount to the success of their appointments. As elected spokespersons for the members they will participate in regular meetings with the Club Management to exchange information and discuss problems and how best to resolve them.
The Captains are democratically elected members representatives for the Captaincy period and must spend at least 8 months per year in TRNC in order to be eligible as candidates. The Captains are responsible for development and organization of inter club competitions and social events which contribute to and enhance the status of Korineum Golf and Country Club. Reserving the golf course for matches is subject to availability and the approval of the Head Professional.
Each Captain will run his/her own Captain''s day. The course will be reserved in the same way as any other member''s competition and tee times will be reserved in the same way as any other member''s competition, and tee times will be reserved as required by him/her. These competitions will be financed in the same way as any other competition and not subsidized. Form of play and any other details pertaining to the structure of the events are at the entire discretion of the Captain/Lady Captain.
Article 25 - Uniform:
Each Captain will be provided with a Captain''s blazer.
Article 26 - Vice-Captain:
Each Captain will choose his/her Vice-Captain, who will generally be present at competitions in the absence of the Captain/Lady Captain. The Vice-Captains have no special rights to taking over the Captaincy when their term runs out but may put themselves forward as candidates at any time, as can any other member.
Article 27 - Election:
The Club Captains will be elected on a yearly basis, on 31st March. The new Captain''s year will begin officially on that date. The candidates are to be forwarded to the Head Professional by 31st January each year and the voting process will begin 15 days later. During the year of Captaincy, the current Captains may present themselves for re-election. The maximum consecutive term is 3 years. Voting is by ballot paper and ballot box. Members who are eligible to vote and are not able can appoint a representative by giving power of attorney to another member.
Article 28 - Members Tee Times:
Member''s Tee Times shall be reserved from 10. 00-11. 30 and 13. 00-14. 30 (Winter Season) and 09. 00-10. 30 and 15. 00-16. 30 (Summer Season) all week (7 days). Reservation must be made in advance.
Diamond members who wish to play outside of Member''s Tee Times must make a reservation at least 24 hours before the desired Tee Time which will be subject to availability according to seasonal variations.
Article 29- Playing Seasons:
Winter Season is from 1st November -31st May
Summer Season is from 1st June - 31st October
Title VI - Disciplinary Regulations
Article 30 - The following are Minor Offences:
1. Neglect in the use of the golf course and Club''s installations, equipment and furniture.
2. Lack of respect and consideration towards other Members and Club staff.
3. Instigation of and participation in arguments which may harm the order of the Club.
4. Any other minor offence provided for the Disciplinary Rules of the TRNC Golf federation or in other applicable rules.
The sanctions for Minor Offences are the following:
a. Verbal warning.
b. Written warning.
c. Suspension of Member''s rights for a period defined by the Directorship/Management.
Article 31 - The following are Serious Offences:
1. Non-compliance with the rules contained in the Statutes or Club Rules.
2. Reoccurrence of minor offences provided that these have been given prior sanction within the last six months.
3. Verbal or physical abuse towards Members or Club staff.
4. The instigations of arguments which disturb the order of the Club.
5. Intentional damage to the golf course and Club''s furniture, belongings or material.
6. Delay in payment of Ordinary or Extraordinary dues for a period not exceeding two months after the date due for payment.
7. Any other serious offence as provided for in the Disciplinary Rules of the TRNC Golf Federation.
The sanctions for Serious Offences will be:
a. Public warning by posting on the Club''s notice board of the offence and the name of the infringer.
b. Suspension of Member''s rights for a period of not less than 15 days.
Article 32 - The following are Very Serious Offences:
1. Reocurrence of Serious Offences taking into consideration that there has been a previous sanction, less than twelve months beforehand.
2. Verbal or physical abuse towards the President or any member of the Management of the Club.
3. Committing any offence or misdemeanor within the Club installations.
4. Committing any deed which may harm the Club''s decorum or dignity.
5. Any other Very Serious Offence as provided for in the Disciplinary Rules of the TRNC Golf Federation.
Sanctions for Very Serious Offences are the following:
a. Suspension of membership rights for a period of time between one and three years.
b. Expulsion from the Club.
Non payment of the Extraordinary or Ordinary dues will also be considered a Very Serious Offence if, after a two month delay in payment, and having received notification to effect payment, it is not made within fifteen days following receipt of the notification.
